March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognize the achievements of women and their lasting contributions to communities across the nation. At River Region United Way, that spirit of leadership and service continues today through Women United: Women of Wisdom, a program that brings women together to support community impact and leadership.
As part of Women’s History Month, River Region United Way will introduce its first Women United: Women of Wisdom event of the year, Bring Her to the Table.
About Women United
Women United is a national United Way initiative dedicated to empowering women as community leaders and philanthropists. Locally, Women United: Women of Wisdom (W.O.W.) serves as the River Region chapter of that effort, creating opportunities for women to connect, learn, and engage with the work of River Region United Way.
Throughout the year, Women of Wisdom will host gatherings and programs designed to encourage leadership, strengthen relationships, and highlight ways women can support initiatives that improve lives across the River Region. The theme for 2026 is Growing the Circle. Growing Wisdom.
Bring Her to the Table
The first major W.O.W. event of 2026, Bring Her to the Table, will bring women together for a meaningful conversation about leadership, mentorship, and the importance of creating opportunities for women to support and uplift one another. The event reflects the broader goals of Women’s History Month—recognizing the achievements of women while encouraging the next generation of leaders to step forward and make a difference.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, April 2, from 4-6 p.m. at Baristas & Barristers, located at 547 S. Lawrence Street in Montgomery, Ala. It is open to all current members of Women of Wisdom, and there is no charge to attend.
