Women United: Women of Wisdom is a River Region United Way program that brings women together to connect, learn, and lead. As part of United Way’s national Women United initiative, the program empowers women to use their voices, resources, and leadership to make a meaningful difference in their communities.
At the local level, Women of Wisdom (W.O.W.) serves as the River Region chapter of Women United, offering opportunities for women across the community to engage with one another while supporting the mission of River Region United Way.
Members of Women of Wisdom come from a wide range of professional backgrounds and life experiences, but they share a common goal—strengthening the River Region and supporting programs that help individuals and families thrive.
A Community of Connection and Purpose
Women of Wisdom provides a welcoming space for women who want to become more engaged in community leadership and service. Through gatherings and conversations throughout the year, members have opportunities to connect while learning more about the issues affecting local families.
These events bring women together to hear from community leaders, learn about initiatives supported by River Region United Way, and explore ways to contribute their time, talents, and resources to causes that matter.

Bring Her to the Table
This gathering focuses on the importance of ensuring women have a seat at the table in leadership, civic engagement, and community decision-making. The program encourages women to support and mentor one another while creating opportunities for meaningful conversation about leadership and impact.
