It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a 5k!
More than 400 adventurous runners took to the tarmac at Montgomery Regional Airport on May 30, 2026, for the River Region United Way "Race the Runway" 5k. This annual event brings together serious and recreational runners, along with aviation enthusiasts, for the chance to complete a 5k course along the airport runways. Participants enjoy the exciting venue while helping to raise funds for the many deserving United Way community partner agencies that provide valuable services throughout the River Region.
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this event possible, the participants who make this such a thrilling event each year, and the airport staff who provide the unique venue and support services. Together, United is the Way We Thrive!
